Prevent double counting
Why one pixel should only be sent by one app.
ROASaurus sends every event twice on purpose: once from the browser and once from the server, with the same event id. Meta, TikTok, Snapchat, Pinterest, Reddit and Microsoft use that id to keep one copy.
Double counting happens when another app also sends the same pixel (for example Shopify's Facebook & Instagram channel data sharing, the TikTok app, or a pixel pasted in your theme). Those use different event ids, so the platform sees two purchases.
Fix
- Set Facebook & Instagram data sharing to Standard or turn it off for this pixel.
- Disconnect the pixel in the TikTok channel app.
- Remove hard-coded pixel snippets from
theme.liquid. - Turn off dynamic checkout buttons ("Buy it now") so Add to cart is always tracked.
